Book Review-President Me by Adam Carolla

Given the current global political climate of the past 15 years, do you ever wonder what you would do as president or chancellor of your home country? What kind of policies you would implement? What is your vision for your home country? Comedian Adam Carolla presents us his story in President Me, where he details legislation he would implement if he became President of the United States. He presents it in a fun, humorous, and comedic way.

Carolla presents the changes he would make to every department of the United States Government. He even goes as far as introducing a new TSA law that requires people must get shitfaced in first class! Carolla said that people being sober in first class reminded him too much of his alcoholism! He even eliminates the law of cars containing seatbelts and airbags in President Me, because he feels it eliminates the incentive to drive safely on roads.

Carolla is also against the anti-bullying movement, because it keeps children from standing up for themselves against bullies in school. This is especially prevalent in an age where the smallest things no one would consider a few generations ago is now classified as ‘bullying.’ Carolla also wants to regulate the nightclub industry, because he has a hard time of ‘getting off’ at today’s clubs. He states that having attractive women to look at should be the only entertainment needed for him as a straight male.

President Me may contain some content that certain audiences would be offended by. Carolla contains some very blunt language throughout. However, for the right audience, this is a very entertaining and hysterical read! It also makes you think how dependent we have become on larger businesses and governments throughout the world since the end of the Cold War. President Me offers the solution to reduce not only our dependence on larger government, but to also be more aware of our surroundings and how we can waste less resources. President Me is a great read for anyone who is into dark humor, and is looking for solutions on how citizens can take better care of our world. Happy reading!

Your competition isn’t other people. Your competition is your procrastination. Your ego. The unhealthy food you’re consuming, the knowledge you neglect. The negative behaviour you’re nurturing and your lack of creativity. Compete against that. /phil
